Aromatherapy

Uses for Essential Oils

Bathing:

Add 5-10 drops of oil directly into warm bath water.

You may also add 5-10 drops of essential oil to 1-2 teaspoons of carrier oil to add wonderful moisturizing properties to a bath.

Massage:

Recommended mixtures range from � cup of carrier oil and approximately 25-30 drops of your favorite oil or mixture of oils to 5-10 drops in a tablespoon of oil. Try various mixtures, test them on a small patch of skin, and find the one that works best for you!

Home Ambiance and Vaporized Oils:

Add a few drops of oil to water and place near a heat source.

Add a few drops to an electric or terracotta diffuser.

Add a few drops to the filter of your vacuum cleaner.

Or add various dried herbs and grasses and a few drops of your favorite oils to a cup of course sea salt in a capped jar; shake and enjoy the aroma when you like.

Fly Repellant for Horses:

One of our horse owing customers recommends the following:

1 cup water
1 cup Avon Skin So Soft Bath Oil
2 cups vinegar
1 tablespoon eucalyptus oil
A few tablespoons of citronella oil

It is not recommended to use this mixture on cats.

Moisturizing Lip Balm:

Cocoa butter, carrier oil, drops of peppermint or your favorite oil. Melt butter and mix to desired consistency; pour into jar or small pot.

Enhance Breathing:

Add a few drops of camphor, eucalyptus, peppermint, lemon, and/or your favorite oil to hot water and breathe in deeply.

Add oils to cocoa butter and carrier oil, rub into chest.

Restful Sleep:

Add calming oils such as chamomile, lemongrass, and lavender to a potpourri of rose petals, hops, dried lavender, and chamomile flowers. Keep it near your pillow and enjoy its restful scent.


Refreshing, Uplifting, and Energizing Oils

Geranium, Bergamot, Juniper, Peppermint, Sweet Orange, Rosemary, Lemon, Balsam Fir, among others.

Relaxing, Calming, and Soothing Oils

Lavender, Rose, chamomile, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Rosewood, Eucalyptus, Myrtle, Cedarwood, and others

Sensual Oils

Sandalwood, Patchouli, Cinnamon, Sage, Frankincense, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, and your favorite.

Carrier Oils

Carrier oils are natural plant oils that are used to dilute and �carry� the essential oil for usage.

Carrier oils include such oils as organic

� avocado,
� almond,
� grape seed,
� sesame,
� wheat germ,
� apricot,
� coconut,
� olive,
� and jojoba oils.


They are moisturizing and healing and have many uses other than in conjunction with essential oils.
